I don't know what it is like for you. But I do know the ones that are left behind-life is very hard. I am glad you can smile :) I think our loved one's live in our hearts and minds forever.

The healing happens slowly, but it does happen. One day memories that used to make you cry will make you smile. You'll see a picture of your brother and your heart won't constrict with pain, but will sing with joy. You'll always miss him, always think about him, always remember him, but someday, I promise, it won't hurt so bad to do so. God bless!

Frankie is watching you dance, and he is smiling, and I am hugging you.

Lisa-Marie is right, some day the pain won't be as intense as it is now. The waiting for that day is the difficult part. Hugging you from Kentucky.

Thinking of you and your family. Lots of love and many moments of serenity. Rest in peace, Frankie.

I cried reading this. Every word meant something to me. I know exactly what you're going through. It does get easier as time goes on, but there are those days every year that are just those days, and you find ways to cope with them, like inviting lots of people over for Christmas instead of just family, and going away on a vacation, and sitting on the floor looking at photos on his birthday and wondering for a minute what life might be like if things hadn't happened the way they did. They are those days. Sometimes they're hard. Sometimes they're okay. Sometimes they make you mad as hell. Eventually, you even find you can still feel happy on those days. You can find comfort wrapped up in those days. But those days will always be a part of your life.
